The pan-Arab newspaper Al Hayat, citing as a source Said Mumzini, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Kurdistan, an autonomous region of Iraq, has stated that a part of the ancient walls of Nineveh was destroyed by the Islamic State jihadists in Mosul, complying with the threat they made earlier in the year.
